The Finnish Rainbow families association

Rainbow Families is an association for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans gender parents. The association also wellcomes as members persons currently planning a family and persons generally interested in parenthood issues.

Rainbow Families acts as a contact and discussion forum for its members and organises gatherings, summer camps, tours and other events. The association also acts as an information channel, actively taking part in social discussion. Furthermore, Rainbow Families wants to ensure that the concerns of its member families are taken into consideration in Finnish legislation.

The Finnish Rainbow Families Association wants to extend the concept of family to cover all families regardless of their parental structure. By providing its member families with a channel through which their concerns, needs, joys and sorrows can be voiced, the association makes invisible families visible.
